Armco Barrier Supplies Product Range
Armco Beams
Our Armco safety beams are precision‑engineered from rugged, corrugated galvanised steel, typically around 3 mm thick to deliver exceptional impact resistance. Designed to absorb and redistribute force upon collision, these beams minimise damage to both vehicles and protected assets
Available in standard effective lengths (1.6 m and 3.2 m), and multiple heights to suit site requirements, from 560 mm for forklift environments up to 1 100 mm for double‑row HGV protection, beam and post configurations can be customised for optimal safety coverage
Armco Posts: RSJ & Z-Post (Bolt-Down & Dig-In)
Our robust support structure includes both RSJ (I‑section) and Z‑section posts, available in both bolt‑down and dig‑in (cast‑in) formats. RSJ posts, with higher load‑bearing capacity, are ideal for high‑risk areas and HGV traffic. Z‑posts, being lighter and more cost‑effective, are typically employed in lower‑risk zones such as loading bays and car parks
Bolt‑down posts (both RSJ and Z) are anchored into concrete floors with M16 bolts and base plates, offering straightforward installation where hard ground is available
Dig‑in (cast‑in) posts are embedded and concreted into penetrable ground, providing deeper foundation and enhanced durability—especially for RSJ posts in heavy‑use environments
Post‑height guidance: 560 mm suitable for forklift zones; 610 mm for light vehicle areas; 760 mm versatile for a range of vehicles; and 1 100 mm in double‑row configuration for HGV or high protection demands
Armco Ancillaries
To complete the barrier system, we stock a full range of ancillaries: fishtail ends, offset brackets, rigid corners, flexible corners (economy and premium), and pedestrian end caps in both galvanised steel and polymer. These components enable smooth transitions, enhanced visual safety, and streamlined installation, whether you’re navigating tight corners, terminating runs safely for pedestrians, or requiring flexible sections to absorb impact differently.
Polymer Components & Handrails
Our product range includes polymer end caps and brackets, combining corrosion‑resistant durability with enhanced pedestrian safety. We also supply Armco handrails for areas where pedestrian protection is essential, offering both structural reinforcement and an ergonomic guide.
Nuts, Bolts & Fixings
All components are fastened using high‑grade hardware suited to their function. Typically, each beam‑to‑beam joint requires M16 × 35 mm lap bolts, and each beam‑to‑post connection uses an M16 × 50 mm post bolt. Bolt‑down posts are further secured with four M16 × 120 mm floor anchors per post
Quality & Standards
Every product is fabricated in‑house, with welding by coded welders certified to BS 4872, and galvanisation compliant with BS 1461 (and BS EN 1461). Production adheres to BS 6180, BS EN 10025, BS 6399, guaranteeing regulatory compliance, mechanical integrity and outstanding corrosion protection. Our rigorous quality regime underpins an expected maintenance‑free service life of up to 25 years
